About

The Isle of Wight has been my home for the past 25 years. The varied scenery and the vibrant events held here have been my inspiration, and I hope that I have managed to encapsulate what makes the island such a special place. I am a keen sailor, and I have been fortunate to participate in multiple Cowes Weeks, Round the Island races and other cruising and racing events locally and in far flung places around the world; all of these experiences have come together to make their mark on my designs.

Advances in the digital world have transformed the way I approach my art and I have been impressed with the freedom and creativity that it allows. My current pieces showcase the result of much research on how to use vector apps on the iPad to create digital images. So far, this has been an excellent and rewarding experience; although not considered a traditional technique, I find that drawing and designing on the touchscreen continues to be an enjoyable new challenge.

Previously when working for Usborne Publishing as a children's book illustrator, I painted with LUMA concentrated watercolours which faded rapidly when exposed to light. Now, my images are Giclee printed locally on Archival Matt, 315gsm, 100% cotton rag which captures the clarity and brightness I strive for, and importantly this method produces a picture that has excellent longevity. So far, I have chosen to create limited edition prints with a total number of 25 - 195. When the run comes to a close, my image file is then deleted.

I hope that you enjoy looking through my gallery. If you would like to see one of my images in the flesh, they can be found at several local galleries on the island; the websites can be found under the 'Galleries' tab. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me using the 'Contact' tab above.
